Plant Continuous Improvement Manager
Location: Weißenthurm, Germany | Reports to: Plant Manager | Team: 3 Change Agents
Make improvement happen, and make it last
Are you a hands-on Continuous Improvement leader who knows how to turn Lean principles into measurable results on the shopfloor? At our Weißenthurm plant, we are looking for a Plant Continuous Improvement Manager who can accelerate our improvement journey, challenge the status quo and build a culture in which continuous improvement becomes part of everyday operations.
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager and leading a team of three Change Agents, you will play a key role in improving safety, quality, service, cost and productivity across the plant.
Your challenge
You will translate plant priorities and operational losses into a focused improvement roadmap and ensure that initiatives move from analysis to real, sustainable results.
You will:
- Lead high-impact, cross-functional improvement projects from diagnosis through implementation and sustainment.
- Strengthen daily performance management, visual KPIs, Gemba routines, leader standard work and structured problem solving.
- Drive measurable improvements in areas such as OEE, uptime, speed, waste, changeovers, energy, labour productivity, inventory and service.
- Establish and sustain plant-wide standards for 5S, Value Stream Management, A3/Root Cause Problem Solving, SMED, TPM and standard work.
- Coach leaders and teams to independently identify problems, implement improvements and sustain results.
- Lead and develop three Change Agents and build a broader network of improvement champions across the plant.
- Partner closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, HSE, HR and Finance.
- Challenge external consultants and translate recommendations into practical actions that deliver measurable value.
- Ensure improvements are embedded within the Trivium Business System / WCOM approach without introducing unnecessary complexity or bureaucracy.
What success looks like
For us, Continuous Improvement is not about workshops, presentations or Lean tools alone. Success means visible results that continue after the project team has left.
You will help create an environment where:
- Leaders actively manage performance and improvement at the Gemba.
- Teams solve problems based on facts and root causes.
- Improvement projects deliver validated operational and financial benefits.
- 5S and workplace organisation become part of the way we work.
- Change Agents and operational leaders independently drive and sustain improvements.
- Improvements remain effective after 3- and 6-month reviews.
What you bring
- A technical, engineering, industrial management or comparable manufacturing background.
- At least 5 years of relevant industrial experience, including substantial hands-on experience implementing Lean / Continuous Improvement in a manufacturing environment.
- A proven track record of delivering cross-functional improvement projects with quantified and sustained results.
- Strong practical knowledge of Lean / WCOM / Six Sigma, including Value Stream Management, A3/Root Cause Problem Solving, 5S, standard work, SMED and TPM.
- Experience leading and developing people and the ability to influence from shopfloor to senior management.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with operational and financial data.
- A pragmatic, hands-on mindset: you know when to use methodology, but also when to simply get things moving.
- Fluency in German and English.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or a comparable practical qualification is an advantage.
What we offer
This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to make a tangible difference to the future performance of the Weißenthurm plant.
You will have direct access to the Plant Manager and Plant Leadership Team, significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape how Continuous Improvement is embedded across the organisation.
If you enjoy being close to operations, challenging assumptions and turning complex improvement opportunities into sustainable results, we would love to hear from you.
