Job Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall installation, repair and upkeep of the company’s production lines. This individual will work closely with the Operations team to ensure timely completion of scheduled maintenance which will enhance production. The Maintenance Manager will oversee the Maintenance Technicians and ensure maintenance projects are being carried out to the end.
Job Duties:
- Lead, train and develop maintenance team.
- Set targets, monitor results, prioritize initiatives, manage direct reports’ progress through personal development discussions, clarifying mission/values, reinforcing accountabilities, and mentoring.
- Drive equipment reliability improvements through predictive maintenance, in-plant efforts with managers to challenge ideas, share experiences, problem solve, brainstorm and utilize technical experts, both internal and external.
- Publish annual maintenance schedule for production lines and communicate any changes.
- Refine implementation of autonomous maintenance throughout facility.
- Track maintenance work orders using maintenance software and delegate work orders to maintenance staff.
- Initiate continuous improvement programs to establish root cause permanent corrective actions.
- Work closely with the EH&S Manager to keep facility current on LOTO, Hot Works, Arc Flash and OSHA procedures.
- Develop a culture from “Group fix” mentality to zone maintenance responsible for a set group of lines but willing and able to assist as needed.
- Authority to stop and/or modify work processes due to non-conformance and/or unsafe working conditions.
- Report all potential food safety concerns to the quality assurance manager.
- Perform all other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Black Belt/Green Belt certification a plus
- Understanding of electrical classifications and ergonomics principles a plus.
- Experience in Lean, Six Sigma or similar continuous process improvement methodology
- Analytical ability to determine and develop solutions to moderately complex problems
Work Environment:
The Maintenance Manager will perform a variety of job duties primarily located on the manufacturing floor where moving machinery produces noises. In addition, this position will work in an office environment located on the manufacturing floor where using a computer, telephone, printer, etc. are essential to performing job duties.
