Electro-Mechanic Technician
Job Location:  Roanoke
Contract Type:  Permanent
Remote/Hybrid/Onsite:  On-site

Summary: Under the direction of the Production / Engineering Manager, is responsible for 
assisting the maintenance, both electrical and mechanical and production departments in ensuring
maximum capacity and efficiency of plant operations and compliance with all Safety requirements.


Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 
 Use a variety of hand tools including pneumatic and other electrical tools to repair plant 
equipment.
 Working Knowledge of 480v 3-Phase systems, 220v and 110V systems.
 Perform daily safety checks on both electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.
 Ability to read a variety of measuring devices, drawings and schematics.
 Maintain plant PLC’s (modify programs, sensors, motors, and controls).
 Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in all departments.
 Be available for call-outs in cases of emergencies and breakdowns.
 Must be able and willing to work alternative shifts when necessary for maintenance
 Drill, tap, cut, to service electrical and mechanical systems.
 Burning, welding and structural construction from verbal descriptions, written specifications, 
or on-site evaluation.
 Use a variety of machine shop equipment to shape steel and other materials into precision 
forms.
 Conduct inventory of materials to ensure sufficient stock to maintain operations.
 Work with Team member to make recommendations for process improvements.
 Read, follow and understand manuals and blueprints.
 Fill-in operating production equipment in all departments as assigned
 Forklift operation
 5S/Housekeeping
 Other duties as assigned by management

Competencies
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following:
 Working knowledge of measuring devices (mechanical and electrical) and competency with 
mathematics, electrical calculations including “amps”, “voltage”, “resistance” and “capacitance”.
 Ability to work at heights following all safety procedures
 In depth knowledge of machine shop equipment and parts machining for breakdown repairs.
 Welding experience with aluminum, steel and stainless steel.
 Ability to operate equipment safely.
 Ability to read blueprints.
 Identify and resolve complex problems in a timely mannerwith a sense of urgency.
 Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with good communication skills.
 Demonstrates attention to detail.
 Communicate with others within and outside the department.
 Able to read and interpret written information
 Ability to operate a computer
 Proven problem-solving experience
 Must be team oriented with good energy and initiative 
 Ability to complete administrative tasks as necessary
Education and or Experience
 Minimum 2 years’ experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance / production 
environment. 
 Prefer journeyman credentials
 High School Diploma/GED
