Summary:

Maintain all aspects of 3PC equipment throughout the plant, establishes operational budgets, adherence to budgets, ensure quality compliance specifications are achieved, ordering inventory of all tooling, parts and ensure all safe practices are upheld, understood and updated. Prepare capital projects needed to stay competitive in the industry through upgrades, improvements and efficiencies gains.

 

General Function:

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, this position will function as 3-Piece Technical Manager that oversees the daily activities of Safety, Quality and the Production / Operations in the 3PC manufacturing. Work with Team Leads, Quality Manager, Scheduling, Logistics and other managers to drive improvements and resolve issues.

 

The 3-Piece Technical Manager role, position will be responsible for Safety in the operations. This role will also provide technical guidance and leadership in the daily operation as well as driving improvement initiatives applying LSS (Lean Six Sigma) tools to drive cost improvements. The 3PC Technical Manager will be responsible for assessing, training, discipline and mentoring Team members and will be responsible for maintaining Trivium Core Values.

 

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Safety Auditing throughout factory and ensure safe work habits exist.

  • Active in Plant Safety Committee.

  • Troubleshoot 3PC problems in department (Slitting, Welding, Flanging, Beading, Seaming, Inspection Systems and all other related manufacturing and quality processes).

  • Ensure all Equipment compliance, operation parameters are in control and aligned to cost tracking and specifications to achieve highest quality and lowest costs.

  • Responsible for equipment overhauls and upgrades.

  • Responsible for all 3PC department operational cost compliance, ordering, rework inventory and SMA’s to design changes, tracking and data collection.

  • Schedule and coordinate all maintenance of production and auxiliary equipment

  • Develop necessary budgets and track compliance

  • Insure 5S / housekeeping compliance in department

  • Must demonstrate attention to details with regards to Safety, Quality and efficient operations.

  • Ensure all work orders are completed, reviewed, signed and reported out.

  • Read engineering drawings and schematics

  • Lead and oversee LSS activities to improve plant efficiencies, reduce waste, etc.

  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects throughout the operations.

  • Be available for call-out in cases of emergencies and breakdowns.

  • Must be able to work alternative shifts when necessary for maintenance / operations.

  • Assist in general plant maintenance as required.

  • Support all Management in assisting and solving complex problems.

  • Must be Team orientated with good energy and initiative

  • Ability to complete administrative tasks as necessary.

 

Competencies:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following:

 

  • Safe work history

  • Ability to interpret 3PC manufacturing Quality adherence to standard.

  • Competency with Measuring Devices both in (SI) Metric and US Customary units.

  • Strong reading, writing and speaking skills.

  • Able to solve complex problems in the Team environment.

  • Ability to operate a forklift (note: will train new hires)

  • Good verbal and written communication

  • Ability to read and interpret written documentation

  • Ability to operate a computer

  • Proven problem-solving experience

  • Must be team oriented with good energy and initiative

  • Ability to complete administrative tasks as necessary

 

Education and or Experience:

  • Technical Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s Degree desired) or 10 + years’ leadership role in manufacturing environment and 5 + years 3-Piece Can making experience.

  • Quality Systems understanding

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher (preferred).

Intermediate to Advanced
