Regional IT Manager

Role Description

The Regional IT Manager is the regional representative for all IT services as well as the first point of contact for any new local/regional business demand. The manager will lead a team of onsite technical IT engineers, with a focus on the operations and maintenance of local IT systems and OT interfaces. The manager will identify and pursue cost-savings as well as continuous improvement opportunities and work through the various global IT teams towards realization. The manager will coordinate closely with various global IT functions and other regional IT teams to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions in line with the organization’s strategic vision.

The manager is also expected to participate in regional business steering board and is a member of the IT Infrastructure & Operations management team. He/She is expected to contribute in defining and implementing global IT policies, procedures, standards and best practices across the respective regional teams.


Scope: All Trivium sites in NL/UK.


Key Responsibilties

Specific responsibilities of the Regional IT Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage key business & IT stakeholder demands– such as ITGC compliance, office move/development, new technology.
  • IT run/operations cost controlling & optimization – regional IT budget ownership, planning and developing IT budgets for the management of local plants/offices, obtaining competitive prices from applicable suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle for the team, including performance management, goal setting, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and ensuring a positive and compliant work environment.
  • People leader–mentoring, training and providing clear career and personal development path for the respective IT Support staff at all locations in scope.
  • Support the smooth running of the IT operations in the manufacturing plant and offices in the region, including user support, IT systems, domain services, communications, and connectivity.
  • Be a leader in crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems.
  • Drive KPI based performance review on team performance in problem resolution and maintenance tasks to deliver best in class IT services.
  • Planning and executing technology local projects and system implementations in an organized and effective manner. Establishing project scopes, goals, timelines, resources, and deliverables that support business goals and tracking projects progress.
  • Working with IT staff on maintaining up-to-date documentation of IT infrastructure and equipment and proper asset and license management for all locations in the region.
  • Recommending information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Actively supporting the implementation of new IT procedures in the plant/office and reviewing and enhancing existing procedures.
  • Actively work with all other global Regions and global teams, promoting sharing of knowledge, best practices and solutions.

Education & Training:

  • A bachelor or master’s degree, preferably in a quantitative discipline
  • Knowledge of IT frameworks like ITIL v3/v4, Agile and project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of Security and Compliance frameworks
  • Good knowledge of IT Shared Services Models
  • Broad knowledge of IT and IT concepts (networking, cloud, security, applications)

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar country/regional IT management role
  • Experience managing a large/remote/distributed IT regional support team.
  • Experience in supporting and deploying centralized IT solutions at regional level
  • Experience in planning and execute technology projects and system implementation effectively in a manufacturing plant and offices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and business apprehension and orientation
  • Experience within the IT field with progressive leadership responsibilities
  • Manage 3rd party IT service providers for the IT operations portfolio, working with outsourcing partners, external partners, consultants and vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, develop, coach and mentor team members to achieve results.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and report against set service improvement and transition targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to align with other IT management team stakeholders to ensure global infrastructure, security and application strategy are implemented in the region.
  • A results-driven manager that is well-rounded in their knowledge of IT service delivery models (ITIL certification preferred)
  • Experienced working with IT ticketing system such as ServiceNow or Remedy
