Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for all facets of production, including: make ready of machine, electronic file manipulation, imposition, colour match, proofing, printing and consistency checking of all production runs and maintenance of the digital press.  

 

  • Monitor the process of production to ensure print quality, recognising when adjustments are necessary.

 

  • Applying and embedding a ‘Right First Time’ culture, that delivers best quality in line with service targets and company objectives.  This includes undertaking quality checks throughout working practice. Embracing and delivering a culture of personal responsibility.

 

  • Ensuring Quality and Continuous Improvement site processes are fully undertaken i.e. 5 Why’s and 8D’s, thereby assisting in the management of HFI in line with the Plant objective and continuous improvement.

 

  • To work effectively with other departments: Graphics, Cans, Supply Chain, Quality and Engineering to embrace a ‘Can Do’ approach and support other department needs.

 

  • During time of low digital production requirement, you may be redirected to other departments to undertake alternative work as is required, for which you will be fully trained to deliver.

 

  • Active participation in improvement projects as and when required.

 

  • Maintain appropriate record keeping, processes and protocols.

 

  • Adherence to Trivium Packaging UK Ltd – Norwich Policies and Procedures and protocols.

 

  • All other tasks commensurate with the grade and skills, as may be directed by the Production Manager, or Site Manager, for which suitable training will be provided.

 

Requirements for the Job

  • High School or vocational/technical school diploma or certificate
  • Additional course in print production of operations and other similar functional areas
  • Courses in chemistry, electronics, colour theory and physics

Experience

  • General process knowledge
  • Understanding the basic concept of prepress
  • Operating mechanical/electromechanical equipment
  • Prior basic computer experience/aptitude
  • Colour theory and practice
  • A working understanding of H&S best practice and Legislation
  • Knowledge of the Print departments’ quality control procedures
  • A working understanding of the principles and tools of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
  • Experience and understanding of working to ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Conversant with FLUID, BPCS and Microsoft programmes
