Internal Control Specialist - Group (WTC Schiphol, Hybrid role!)

Are you the one to master these challenges?


  • You engage senior management in an internal controlling mindset and are able to balance risk controls with the strategies of your stakeholders.
  • You have experience at group level of a multinational company working with a variety of functions: Finance, HR, IT, Sales, Legal, Marketing…
  • You analyze the risks of financial processes, connect with stakeholders and make proposals to realize improvements or create new processes.


Then you must be this person:


  • you have a minimum of 6 years of experience in audit and internal control,
  • Big 6 or equivalent experience is preferred
  • you have relevant experience in accounting and auditing (Chartered Accountant, Chartered Internal Auditor/CPA or equivalent)
  • advanced Excel skills
  • IFRS / IAS
  • SOx (including PCAOB and SEC plus regulations)
  • internal audit principles • internal control • ERP knowledge (SAP preferred )


With this on your CV:


  • a solid experience in a similar role at corporate headquarters
  • experience working with medium/large-sized globally operating companies
  • experience with change management and big company transformations

Your daily tasks at Trivium:


  • You promote Internal Control awareness and accountability across the Group Functions like Finance, HR, IT, Sales, Legal, etc.
  • You build strong working relationships with group functions like Finance, HR, IT, Sales, Legal, etc.. to ensure sufficient controls are in place
  • You support the Group Internal Controls Director and Functional Leaders to provide guidance and support by promoting good practice
  • You ensure good maintenance of Internal Control documentation and processes for which responsible.
  • You support the Group IC Director in developing relevant guidance and policy documents.
  • You perform risk assessments, walkthroughs, Tests of Design and effectiveness for Group Functions.
  • You ensure ongoing maintenance and update of the RACM related to Group Functions.
  • You provide advice and assistance to functional teams on the design and implementation of adequate controls.
  • You drive and support functional teams on remediating control deficiency or weakness and help in the remediation.
  • You monitor the SoD risks for group functions and support in remediation of migration of SoD conflicts.
  • You work with the various teams on SOX compliance, Internal Controls, Business Continuity, Audit and Data Analytics related key projects.
  • You coordinate quarterly self-assessment for the critical controls for the high-risk process.
  • You communicate with Internal and External Audit regularly to understand high-risk areas and deficiencies and work with functional teams to remediate.
  • You participate in the design and implementation of Enterprise Risk Management framework work for group functions.
  • You support the Group IC Director in providing suggestions on IT controls across all financial systems and processes.
  • You drive and support IT General Controls and IT Application Controls along with the IT department.
