Primary Purpose:
Under the direction of the Plant Manager and/or Human Resources Manager, the Plant
Administrator provides assistance and support to all plant personnel and may carry out
responsibilities in some or all of the following: payroll, plant statistical reporting and
monitoring, safety, benefits administration, office services, events planning and employee
communications.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Human Resources Support
Responsible for the administration of all aspects of weekly payroll processing for hourly
team including E-time, ADP payroll processing, trouble-shooting, time and attendance
reports and maintaining timekeeping system. Works jointly with Corporate Payroll
Department.
Provides training and support to responsible personnel with payroll processing as needed.
Assists Human Resource personnel with processing team member’s benefits, worker’s
compensation and unemployment claims, as well as month end reporting requirements.
Organizes and conducts orientation for new hires.
Oversees updates & maintenance of all employees’ personnel folders, electronic
information and supporting documentation, including the addition of new hires,
promotions/transfers and deletion of terminated employees.
Interacts with employees regarding payroll issues, concerns and human resource needs.
Safety/Plant Administrative Support
Assist with administration of all Plant Safety requirements including OSHA reporting,
incident investigation and tracking, training, Safety Committee, Workers Compensation
and all other Safety related administration as assigned.
Provides administrative support to the Plant Manager and other plant personnel as
needed.
Organizes and conducts safety orientation for new hires, vendors, visitors and
contractors.
Maintains employee communication boards including posting of internal & external
communications.
Monitors the safety glasses and safety shoes programs and reconciles issues with the
program for team members.
Other office and plant support duties may be required.
Skills & Competencies:
Exercises good judgment with the ability to independently plan and accomplish goals
including overlapping deadlines.
Able to self-manage and self-direct when required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to handle and protect confidential business and personnel information on a daily
basis.
Competency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Competency or the ability to gain competency with ADP, SAP and other business systems
as needed.
Education and or Experience:
H.S. diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 – 5 years office related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or degree from an office assistant program preferred. Associates degree in
business management or related degree preferred.
Experience in Human Resources and/or Safety is strongly preferred.
Physical Demands:
The noise level in the plant is moderate but very loud in the machine shop. Employees must
wear hearing protection and all other assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Work Environment:

atmosphere contains fumes, dust and occasional odors.
