The Manufacturing Engineer will plan, design, set up, modify and optimize, and monitor manufacturing processes in our industrial facility. The manufacturing engineer will also manage capacity addition, process improvement and / or equipment replacement projects to include project SCOPE definition, costing, business case development, resource planning, timeline and execution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support Production in reducing / eliminating equipment and tooling downtime or scrap, utilizing good analytical methodologies
- Manage capacity addition, process improvement and / or equipment replacement projects to include project SCOPE definition, costing, business case development, resource planning, timeline and execution.
- Collaborates closely with project team to develop proposal of improvement initiatives including process, equipment and product improvements with relevant details such as scope of work, timelines, labor requirements, costs and return on investment.
- Manage and forecast of associated project capital spending compared to budgeted costs.
- Generates vendor Technical Scope of Supply documents and works closely with Purchasing Manager in negotiating capital purchases.
- Prepare and present detailed financial analysis including project budgets, ROI analysis and forecasts.
- Create and maintain Process Flow, PFMEA, and Operation and Maintenance documentation
- Ensure that manufacturing cost standards are achieved through process optimization and improvement methods
- Support and maintain error-proofing methodologies
- Support facility and production line enhancements
- Support and develop department or maintenance projects / activities with good engineering direction. Take part or facilitate the team Lean strategies and methodologies and / or Six Sigma activities
- Facilitate continuous improvement for all processes
- Support, cost estimate and document all engineering changes
- Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, or processes and systems
- Document all activities as required
- Optimize maintenance programs and practices
- Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management
- Compose and publish standard training documents and single point lessons
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
- Minimum of 5 years related experience in manufacturing or assembly processes
- Working knowledge of manufacturing / mechanical processes and equipment
- Experience designing, operating, troubleshooting, or maintaining complex production machinery is desirable
- Knowledge of computer or PLC based machine control systems is desirable
- CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is desirable
- Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma theory and practices is desirable
- Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
- Good mechanical / technical skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read, interpret and create mechanical, electrical and P&ID drawings.
- Possess excellent leadership & teamwork abilities, and organizational skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills

Pay Range:
Min: $91,100.00/yr
Max: $136,700.00/yr
