This position provides Shipping, Receiving, Packaging, Sorting and MRO Inventory support, ensuring production has required material needed to meet schedule, customer product is shipped on –time and minimum and maximum balances are maintained in MRO.

 

Essential Primary Responsibilities & Duties:

 

  • Always operates mobile equipment in a Safe manner, promoting safety with those related to warehouse/distribution.
  • Performs daily forklift Safety checks and reports / documents out-of-compliance concerns for correction on maintenance work orders.
  • Complete the correct material handling movements of raw material, work in process, finished goods & recyclable components within the plant, ensuring complete accuracy of transactions and zero damage to materials.
  • Execute product shipments to external & internal customers, as well as satisfy other shipping needs. Ensure internal and external customer demands and requests are satisfied at all times.
  • Review in-plant raw material availability to replenish or rotate stock according to FIFO principles.
  • Preparation and/or completion of required receiving and shipping documentation, including but not limited to BOL’s and inspections.
  • Utilization of operational ERP components including lift terminals, SAP review and TMS scheduling applications.
  • Participate in cycle counting activities as part of the physical inventory process of both MRO and Finished Goods.
  • During operational flexibility, engage in warehouse 5S requirements.
  • Ensure that receiving activities for incoming material, parts and all other incoming shipments are handled properly, inspected and documented.
  • Investigation of undocumented receipts and returns.
  • Maintain working relationship with vendors and carriers ensuring a professional atmosphere with all relevant parties.
  • Facilitate processing of plant recyclables and scrap per designated disposition stream.
  • Work autonomously and independent through support of guidance from department personnel.
  • Provide occasional off-shift coverage to department team members for operational success.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Potential Secondary Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Suggest and procure S/R department spare parts, service and any other warehouse supplies needed.
  • Provide procurement support to assist in MRO or consumable part ordering using min/max, restock, MRO procedures.
  • Maintain organized system for part recognition, identification including labeled parts, bins, location map, sign-outs, visual factory, 5S & Lean mythology
  • Assist in re-work projects as assigned during

Staring Pay Range: 

  • $16.20 - $17.98 per hour

 

Education and/or Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. 5+ years shipping/receiving/inventory experience in a high-volume manufacturing or distribution environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a related field
  • Kaizen / Lean Six Sigma training and exposure
  • Experience in food grade product manufacturing

 

Computer Skills:

Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office Applications)

The noise level in the work environment is loud. Employees must wear hearing protection and all other assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Temperatures can range from extreme cold (<40 degrees) to extreme heat (>95 degrees). The atmosphere contains some fumes, dust and odors.
