Purpose of the role: 

 

The Record to Report (R2R) Manager will oversee a comprehensive set of accounting and reporting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), corporate policies, and external audit requirements.
This role is critical in managing the integrity of financial data and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate reporting and budgeting. Key responsibilities include the Asset Accounting function, Payroll accounting function, monthly closing of accounts and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements.

The R2R Manager will report to and work closely with the Head of Finance in the BSC and will play a key role in bridging operational finance with strategic planning, becoming a trusted partner to both Business Unit Finance and Corporate Finance teams.

 

Your responsibilities: 

 

People Management

  • Lead the recruitment and selection of team members
  • Oversee onboarding, training, and development to ensure role readiness
  • Assign responsibilities and delegate tasks effectively across the team
  • Manage work schedules and resource planning to meet operational needs
  • Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and support to team members
  • Address performance issues through constructive feedback and disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Clearly communicate role expectations and performance standards
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and development discussions
  • Make recommendations and decisions on compensation and recognition
  • Ensure team adherence to company policies, procedures, and compliance standards

 

Overall Operational Responsibility

  • Lead and oversee the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate recording of all revenues, costs, and adjustments; review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports to support internal and external reporting
  • Manage financial reporting activities, including preparation of management reports, variance analysis, and commentary to support decision-making across Business Units and Corporate Finance
  • Coordinate budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and providing analytical insights to support planning and performance tracking
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting accuracy and timeliness, leveraging automation tools and ERP capabilities
  • Support strategic financial initiatives, including ERP upgrades, system integrations, and process optimization projects
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements, maintaining a strong control environment across all R2R processes
  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate interim and year-end audits, ensuring completeness and accuracy of audit deliverables
  • Act as a key liaison with budget owners and stakeholders, ensuring efficient and transparent month-end close and reporting processes
  • Maintain accuracy and scalability of the chart of accounts, ensuring proper classification and booking of all transactions in the general ledger
  • Provide analytical support through variance analysis, trend identification, and performance metrics to enhance financial visibility and accountability
  • Continuously review and improve financial processes, recommending enhancements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance

  • Ensure accruals are followed up and monitored
  • Ensure BS reconciliations are done timely & efficiently

Drive Process Standardization and Optimization

  • Support the GPO in the ongoing development / establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
  • Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establishes the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud
  • Support the standardization of Chart of Accounts in SAP
  • Maintain continuous Improvement behaviour in the team, deliver improvements
  • Document improvement ideas, (inspire the team to collect all ideas) prioritize them, measure, implement and present them)

 

Stable and Compliant Operations

  • Comply with internal (Cash, Asset, Month-End) and external controls, fiscal, tax, local and corporate requirements
  • Manage department audits

 

 

This role will suit you if you have the following:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in accounting/ Finance/ Management (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years in leadership role
  • Advanced accounting knowledge, including complex transactions and GAAP compliance
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Proficiency in SAP and other ERP systems
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven experience in process improvement and implementation of best practices
  • Strong team building and motivational skills to foster a high-performing environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing cross-functional teams
  • Effective stakeholder and client relationship management
  • Excellent planning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Clear and confident communication skills across all levels of the organization
