Purpose of the role:
As a Logistics Service Representative, you will support the logistics operations in France and Spain by coordinating transportation activities, ensuring smooth and cost-effective delivery flows, and maintaining strong relationships with service providers.
Your role is key in optimizing transport performance, managing documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with internal standards and QHSE regulations.
Your responsibilities:
- Plan and monitor daily transport operations for factories in France and Spain.
- Track shipments and ensure timely deliveries using systems like SAP and Transporeon.
- Maintain and update transport records and prepare all necessary documentation.
- Handle transport-related invoicing and ensure billing accuracy.
- Identify and evaluate logistics service providers based on cost, quality, and lead time.
- Negotiate transport rates and maintain competitive supplier relationships.
- Resolve delivery issues and complaints independently.
- Support logistics projects aimed at improving efficiency and reducing costs.
- Train new team members and provide technical support to colleagues.
- Step in for the Logistics Manager during absences.
- Ensure compliance with QHSE standards, including hygiene, safety, and environmental practices.
- Contribute to the development of best practices and continuous improvement in logistics processes.
This role will suit you if you have the following:
- A strong understanding of road, sea, and air transport regulations, paired with basic commercial law knowledge relevant to logistics.
- Hands-on experience with logistics platforms such as SAP and Transporeon, and confidence in managing transport data and documentation.
- Fluency in both English and French, with the ability to communicate clearly across teams and with external partners.
- The ability to stay organized under pressure, prioritize effectively, and adapt quickly to changing operational needs.
- Skilled in negotiating rates and service terms with providers, always aiming to balance cost-efficiency with service quality.
- Familiarity with QHSE standards and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement, with initiative and problem-solving skills that contribute to team success.
