Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor maintains all aspects of electrical and electronic equipment throughout the plant ensuring all quality, safety and production goals are met and in compliance with established operating procedures rating procedures and safety standards.
 

Job Duties: 

  • Ensures proper functioning of all electrical units in the facility & all scheduled checks are done
  • Runs conduit, wiring, hook-up disconnects, switches, push buttons, circuit panels, breakers, suppressers, transformers, motor starters, relays, timers and motors
  • Reads engineering drawings and schematics, while also keeping them up to date
  • Maintains vision inspection system by modifying and writing programs and servicing hardware.
  • Maintain plant P.L.C.’s (modify and write programs, download, upload), sensors, network (LAN), phone lines.
  • Efficiently manages time and successfully completes all tasks assigned
  • Diagnose motor conditions; Replaces gear motors
  • Maintain proper lighting throughout plant which includes changing bulbs, fixtures and ballast
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems in all departments
  • Completes work orders, closes and signs them upon completion
  • Coordinates work functions with co-workers and other organizational departments.
  • Assist in general plant maintenance
  • May be required to work on Plant Projects
  • Notifies supervisor of potential hazards or any concerns related to the condition of the plant
  • While conducting work functions, ensures compliance of all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and health administration rules (OSHA)
  • Shall understand the BRC Food Safety Policy, GMP’s, HACCP Principle and BRC Food Safety Standard.
  • 5S and Housekeeping of the Electrical Storage Room and Electrical office
  • Be available for call-out in cases of emergencies and breakdowns
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

 

Starting Wage:  $26.92 - $30.55 per hour

 

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. with a minimum f 3 years of industrial electrician experience
  • Associate degree in an electrical concentration or equivalent technical certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of N.E.C. codes
  • Proficient working knowledge of 480 V 3 phase systems, 220 V and 110 V systems
  • Sound understanding of handling and using electrical repair tools and measuring devices (aptitude test required)
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Intermediate mall skills with the ability to divide in all units of measurement, compute rate, ratio, and percent (aptitude test required)
  • Must have the ability to quickly recognize and plan for changing work duties and events
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate people and maintain a safe, cohesive work environment
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to work all shifts including 8- or 12-hour shifts, daylight, and off-shifts as well as weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Good hand eye coordination is necessary.

 

Work Environment:

This position works in a manufacturing environment and around machinery that produces noise. The noise level in the work environment is very loud. Employees must wear hearing protection and all other assigned personal protective equipment. Temperature can range from extreme cold (<40 degrees) to extreme heat (>95 degrees). The atmosphere contains fumes, dust, and odors.
